Technology Mahotsav Celebrated at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sagroli - 20 January 2016



Farmers in Exhibition
An Agriculture Exhibition of 32 stalls of agriculture inputs, farm implements, farm machines and stalls of the Self Help Groups was inaugurated by Dr. Ram Kharche, Vice-president of Maharashtra Council of Agriculture and Extension, Pune under the chairmanship of Promod Deshmukh, chairman of Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal, Sagroli. The dignitaries from different areas and department were present.

  Dr. Ramchandra Sable (Meteorologist), Dr. K.T. Galande (Charirma of IIRD, Pune), Pandit More (ADO, Nanded), R.N. Dhurve (DDM, NABARD), Miss. Vaishali Kulkarni (Dy PD, ATMA), Dr. B.B. Bhosle (DEE, VNMKV, Parbhani), Dr. Harihar Kausadikar (Dept of Soil Science, VNMKV, Parbhani), Proff. T.D. Tekale (Collage of Engineering, VNMKV, Parbhani) were the chief guests of first day of the technology Mahotsav.

After inauguration of the Agriculture Exhibition and formal welcome of the guests, Dr. Suresh Kulkarni, in his introductory speech, explained the objective behind technology mahotsav and narrated the progress and technology demonstrated at Krishi Vigyan Kendra farm along with the demonstration units set for the farmers in campus.

DDM of NABARD, R.N. Dhurve explained different schemes for the farmers including Farmiers Club, Credit facilities for the farmers for enterprises and. Farmers should take advantage of Krishi Vigyan Kendra for adoption of the innovations on farm for their development.

Dr. B.B. Bhosle, DEE, VNMKV, suggested to the method of control of the pest and diseases according to the change climate and new insect pests. Farmers should be in position to identify the friends (beneficial insects) and enemy by educating themselves accordingly.

 Dr. Ram Kharche, Vice President of MCAER, Pune gave stress on contract farming, Farmers Producer Company, water management and marketing of the agriculture produce. As the ground water level is gone up to 200 to 300 feet, it is very difficult for the not only irrigation but also the drinking water, so Jalyukt Shivar Project is the only mission through which we can escape from the problem of drought conditions. Farmers were also advised to take an advantage of farm pond, micro irrigation system, farm mechanization etc.

 Meteorologist Dr. Ramchandra Sable explained the factors affecting climate change, we can predict the situation in next year’s rainy season by analyzing the data of last 30 years. He gave suggestion that, if the summer climate condition is normal, then next year will be with normal rains.

          Dr. K.T. Galande suggested farmers to go to the medicinal plant to which sure market is available if it is done in groups. Government is supporting by giving subsidy to medicinal plantation.
Proff. D.D. Tekale, Engineering college, VNMKV, Parbhani suggested to adopt 3.09
Mechanization not only with the tractor based but with the bullock drown implements evolved by VNMKV. He also suggested adopting soil and watering conservation methods in the standing crops.

Dr. Harihar Kausadikar, Soil Scientists, advised to adopt the soil test based fertilizer by adopting the soil testing and maintaining the soil health card. Government of Maharashtra and Central government is implementing the scheme of the “Soil Health Card” distribution of each 2.0farmer.

In presidential speech, Pramod Deshmukh, appealed farmers to attend this kind of the mahotsav, training programmes and other extension programmes conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra regularly round the year.
